This post is all about Tacos! Those of you who know me, know how very, very much I love tacos! Well, something wonderful happened this weekend concerning tacos, and I had to share it. Background: hen I was younger, living in Arkansas, my friends Allison and Rindy and I used to eat at a little place called Taco Tico. We loved it. They had enchiladas, something very few fast food Mexican places have; and they were just plain yummy. Anyway, this weekend, Stan and I took a drive through Oklahoma and Kansas. We had been driving all day, when suddenly, in Winfield, Kansas, I spotted it. A Taco Tico! I was so excited that my darling Stan didn’t even hesitate before pulling into the parking lot so that we could have an early dinner! It was wonderful. And much to my surprise, Taco Tico is still a good place to eat! I was afraid I’d be disappointed, but I wasn’t! It was fantastic! Therefore, in the tradition of my All About Books post, I’ve decided to make a post that is All About Tacos, with recreated questions where the answers will be restaurants that serve tacos!

It should be noted that Nicole actually squealed with delight when we went inside the Taco Tico. It was cute.Also, you know how if you say a word over and over enough times that it starts to sound like a nonsensical pile of syllables? Almost happened here. Taco taco taco taco taco. Hee hee 🙂

You may not know this but while I was in high school I managed a Taco Pete in Wichita that makes me an expert in this area. And Nicole I will have to agree with you (God help me) but you’ve nailed most of the observations concerning taco joints right on the head. I still love Taco Tico whenever I can get to one. And in our area you’ll find them in Siloam Springs, Springdale, Rogers, Bentonville and other Arkansas locations. Wichita has some other pretty good Taco joints… Taco Pronto (Formerly Taco Pete), and Taco Grande.My present favorite taco place is Mucho Mexico in Webb City where the tacos are fantastic.

Oh, and we are planning a visit to Dalhart in November.Jai, you expected nothing less than a signature “Nicole” post, right?What, Mark? You agree??? YOU AGREE?? Stop the presses! Mark agrees with me! Well, it just so happens that I agree with you, too. Mucho Mexico (see item #1 on the taco list) does have the most fantastic tacos! I daresay they are the best I’ve ever eaten, and believe me when I say I have eaten a lot of tacos!
I will share the one bit of “Taco Lore” that has been passed down from generation to generation in my family.The farther you get from the Mexican border the worse the Mexican food gets…..therefore, NEVER eat tacos in Oregon!
Corinna, I beg to differ. Taco Time, which is actually based in the Pacific Northwest, is home of one of the best tacos I’ve ever eaten. And any of my friends can tell you that I have eaten a lot of tacos! So, I say, ALWAYS eat tacos in Oregon!
