Just in case you’ve lost your dictionary, here’s a reminder from Merriam-Webster.com.
customer noun one that purchases a commodity or service
service noun the occupation or function of serving
serve verb to be a servant; to be of use; to be favorable, opportune, or convenient; to wait on customers (for definition of customer, see above)
And here’s a quote from the Wiki:
“Customer service is a series of activities designed to enhance the level of customer satisfaction – that is, the feeling that a product or service has met the customer expectation.”
So far today, you’ve failed.
Customer service, as defined above, does not include . . .
. . . sending a technician that has to ask what my problem is today.
. . . that same technician not bringing the box that I specifically asked that he bring.
. . . calling from the convenience store that is less than 1/4 of a mile from my home to tell me you’re on the way, when you were supposed to give me 30 minutes notice.
. . . a customer service representative putting me on hold for over 15 minutes while he tries to find a supervisor.
Jim, I’m sure you understand.
